| About Duane Johnson |
I began diving in 2001 and quickly fell in love with the sport. In 2004, I became an instructor. Quickly afterwards, I came to believe there was a better approach to diving than what was currently being taught. I was fortunate to have been trained in skill mastery and team diving concepts by some of the greatest instructors in the world. I found this was the way I wanted to dive and teach my classes.
Based in the Chicago area, I offer SCUBA diving courses from beginners through advanced level divers, including Assistant Instructors and technical divers, throughout the Chicago and Great Lakes region. I focus my classes on safety, situational awareness, team building, and most of all FUN!!!!
As a full time diving instructor, I am flexible to travel to your location to run any class I am able to teach. Feel free to contact me about getting on my calendar. |

| Diving Experience Summary |
When I am not teaching, I can be found diving year round, in a wide variety of environments that include the Great Lakes, to the warm clear waters of the Caribbean and South Pacific.
I have a passion for diving and strive to be the best possible diver I can be. This passion provides the motivation for me to accomplish between 100 and 150 non-teaching dives per year. This gives me the experience to increase my knowledge pool to share with my students. I believe in continual practice. A great diver makes for a great instructor.
